WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH A DOLLAR?
Although it is not much, hopefully you can find a way to take the dollar and use it in a positive way. Here are some ways to bless others:
-
Give it to a homeless person...
-
Help support someone who may be having financial difficulties...
-
Support a good cause at your school, church or in the community...
-
Pool your money together and discuss a joint effort with a few other young people...

I donated my dollar to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). I also challenged my classmates in the Hilliard Memorial Middle School band to donate a dollar as well. My band teacher is collecting donations until Friday, January 6.
Update - I wanted to let you know that the band collected $75.75 in three days! I will be taking it to the JDRF office sometime this week.

To Write Love On Her Arms
It took me awhile to decide where I wanted to send my dollar, but after some time searching on the Internet, I believe I found the perfect place. To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA) is an organization that works to help people who struggle with addiction, depression, self-injury, and suicide. I thought that this would be a great place to donate my dollar to, because there are so many people, especially youth and young adults, who struggle with these issues and need serious help. I told my friends Chelsey Sumner and Alexus Cole if they would want to donate their dollars as well, and they were all for it. We were also able to collect a few dollars from people around the church. I hope that with the money we donated to them, that they will be able to reach young people who are struggling everyday, and that their lives with become brighter. P.S. Thanks to Ms. TaNikka, Ms. Mia, Ms. Monica, and Mr. John for donating money to the cause!

We took our dollar and gave it to our bus driver. Her husband is suffering from leukemia. He had a bone marrow transplant before winter break. Now he isn't doing well. We aren't sure if he is rejecting the transplant but all we know is that he is hanging in there and it isn't looking to well. Thank you for giving us this opportunity to help Bev.
